Stacey Dooley is back for the sixth series of the much-loved Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over <\/a>\u2013 the intimate show in which she spends time inside the homes of extraordinary people, delving deep into their lives beyond the headlines.<\/p>\n Even for Stacey, <\/a>its staying power feels surreal. \u201cI can\u2019t quite believe we\u2019re on our sixth series. It does feel wild, but brilliant,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s such an achievement and a testament in terms of how loved the series is.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201csleepover\u201d format has always felt natural to her; \u201cIt\u2019s immediately intimate,\u201d Stacey says. And with this season\u2019s line-up, she promises a few jaw-dropping moments.<\/a><\/p>\n First up is Lily Phillips \u2013 a high-profile adult content creator with a huge following and a knack for stirring up controversy. That\u2019s the beauty of it.\u201d<\/p>\n Behind Lily\u2019s ring light, Stacey discovered more than just headline-grabbing soundbites. \u201cShe was good company, very accommodating and there\u2019s a real sweetness to her that I don\u2019t think is immediately obvious, because what she\u2019s saying is so outrageous,\u201d Stacey, 38, says. \u201cBut, also there\u2019s a scene at the end of the film that shows a side of her we haven\u2019t seen before.\u201d<\/p>\n From Lily\u2019s unapologetic glamour in London, Stacey heads to Essex to meet Barrie Drewitt-Barlow \u2013 Britain\u2019s first gay man to be legally recognised as a father in 1999. The visit was a whirlwind of opulence.<\/p>\n \u201cI felt like I was in a resort in Marbella! I turned up and there was staff everywhere, it was bonkers,\u201d Stacey remembers. \u201cA million miles away from how I live!\u201d Her time with Barrie involved more than enjoying the lavish surroundings. Stacey met his family, including partner Scott and their children. \u201cScott and the kids were a dream,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n Her final stop is Birmingham, where she spends three days with Marie Buchan, the media-branded \u201cBenefits Queen\u201d. Stacey came away feeling like there was more to Marie than meets the eye.<\/p>\n \u201cSpending time with her was really worthwhile. I hope people see a different side to her,\u201d Stacey says. \u201cShe\u2019s a woman who\u2019s had a very hard time.\u201d<\/p>\n While Stacey tackles each episode with an open mind, her perspective has inevitably been shaped by becoming a mum. She and her partner, former Strictly dancer Kevin Clifton, are parents to two-year-old daughter Minnie. Has motherhood changed her approach?<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m sure it probably has, you\u2019d have to ask my director,\u201d she quips. \u201cMaybe subconsciously. When you\u2019re interviewing or spending time with parents or a mum, you can\u2019t help but think, \u2018What if I found myself in this situation with my daughter, or if my daughter was in this situation?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Filming the three-part reality series is a break from daily life, but it has its challenges. \u201cThe first night is heaven because you get a bit of peace,\u201d Stacey says. \u201cThen the second and third night you start missing home.\u201d<\/p>\n But her efforts pay off. If the audience response is anything to go by, Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over is as popular as ever.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s always a joy,\u201d she says. \u201cWhen I get in the back of a cab and the cabbie says, \u2018I\u2019ve watched your Jewish family episode,\u2019 or, \u2018I\u2019ve watched your episodes with the no parenting rules,\u2019 everyone\u2019s got an opinion.
