Oscar Piastri\u2019s Formula One career has started to take off as he shows why McLaren went to such lengths to secure him for the team.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Australian star has already secured some memorable Grand Prix wins as he looks to add a drivers\u2019 championship to his name.<\/p>\n

While there are plenty of years still ahead of him in F1<\/a>, there are some moments from Oscar Piastri<\/a> that will live long in the memory.<\/p>\n

So, with that said, here\u2019s a look at the top five best moments from the McLaren<\/a> ace in his career so far.<\/p>\n

Oscar Piastri came through the Alpine academy, working his way towards a role in F1, which included a position as reserve driver for the team.<\/p>\n

In August 2022, following the news that Fernando Alonso would be leaving the team to join Aston Martin, Alpine announced the Australian would be stepping onto the grid.<\/p>\n

However, despite that, Piastri rejected the claim that he would be racing for them on social media, claiming he had not accepted a contract and wouldn\u2019t be driving for Alpine in 2023.<\/p>\n

I understand that, without my agreement, Alpine F1 have put out a press release late this afternoon that I am driving for them next year. This is wrong and I have not signed a contract with Alpine for 2023. I will not be driving for Alpine next year.<\/p>\n

The star claimed: \u201cI understand that, without my agreement, Alpine F1 have put out a press release late this afternoon that I am driving for them next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is wrong and I have not signed a contract with Alpine for 2023. I will not be driving for Alpine next year.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was later revealed that Piastri was in talks with McLaren, who he then went on to join.<\/p>\n

Oscar Piastri\u2019s maiden F1 Grand Prix win<\/p>\n

Every F1 driver remembers their maiden Grand Prix win, and for Oscar Piastri, that came in Hungary back in 2024.<\/p>\n

The race consisted of a battle between him and his McLaren teammate Lando Norris<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Piastri qualified in second, behind Norris, but an overtake on the first lap helped put him out in front.<\/p>\n

There were some changes between the two in their track position, but it ended with the Australian taking his first win.<\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve got your first Grand Prix win, the confidence can often flow after, with some impressive displays.<\/p>\n

For Piastri, that confidence was evident when he took to the track at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which had plenty of drama.<\/p>\n

The McLaren star was stuck in some big battles with Ferrari<\/a> ace Charles Leclerc<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the end, Piastri sealed the win over his Monegasque counterpart, but did so in fine fashion with an impressive overtake.<\/p>\n

First F1 podium at the Japanese Grand Prix<\/p>\n

As far as rookie seasons go, Piastri had a positive showing for McLaren, which was sealed with a podium at the Japanese Grand Prix.<\/p>\n

It was the first podium for a rookie since Lance Stroll in 2017, showing just how impressive the feat was at the time.<\/p>\n

Piastri has since gotten over 20 podiums, with a few Grand Prix wins to his name already.<\/p>\n

Oscar Piastri commits his future to McLaren with new contract<\/p>\n

After an impressive season and a bit at McLaren, Piastri committed himself to the team with a brand new contract.<\/p>\n

The deal, signed in 2025, was a \u201cmulti-year\u201d agreement that will see him stay with the constructor for the future.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen what the two can achieve together, but one thing is for sure: there is a bright future ahead for both.<\/p>\n
