{"id":37283,"date":"2025-04-21T03:25:14","date_gmt":"2025-04-21T03:25:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/37283\/"},"modified":"2025-04-21T03:25:14","modified_gmt":"2025-04-21T03:25:14","slug":"bristol-rovers-ace-says-wrexham-are-really-good-in-one-area-worked-tirelessly-to-frustrate-phil-parkinson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/37283\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol Rovers ace says Wrexham are \u2018really good\u2019 in one area, \u2018worked tirelessly\u2019 to frustrate Phil Parkinson"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Wrexham slipped up in the League One promotion race, drawing 1-1 at home with Bristol Rovers on Friday afternoon.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Easter weekend was always going to be crucial in the battle for promotion from League One.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, it hasn\u2019t started well for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrexhaminsider.com\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wrexham<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrexhaminsider.com\/tag\/phil-parkinson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Phil Parkinson<\/a> watched on as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrexhaminsider.com\/match\/two-winners-and-four-losers-from-wrexhams-league-one-clash-with-bristol-rovers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wrexham only drew 1-1 with Bristol Rovers<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor Moore\u2019s opener was cancelled out by a Matty James leveller, but there was to be no typical Wrexham late show.<\/p>\n<p>To make matters worse, Wrexham saw Wycombe Wanderers beat Bolton Wanderers 2-0 to claim second place with just three games to go.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GettyImages-2191805219-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by MI News\/NurPhoto via Getty Images\" \/>Photo by MI News\/NurPhoto via Getty Images<strong>Bristol Rovers defender on Wrexham approach<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wrexham boasted 65% of possession against Bristol Rovers but couldn\u2019t really make it count.<\/p>\n<p>This was a troubling performance and one which will leave fans fearing that automatic promotion is fading away.<\/p>\n<p>There is still time for Wrexham to overtake Wycombe Wanderers again, but the games are running out now.<\/p>\n<p>Bristol Rovers defender Taylor Moore \u2013 the man who headed the visitors in front on Friday \u2013 has commented on the victory and Wrexham\u2019s style of play.<\/p>\n<p>Moore told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolrovers.co.uk\/news\/taylor-moore-incredibly-proud-after-wrexham-draw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bristol Rovers official website<\/a> that he feels Wrexham are \u2018really good\u2019 from crosses into the box.<\/p>\n<p>James\u2019 leveller did come from a Ryan Longman cross, but Moore highlighted that Bristol Rovers \u2018worked tirelessly\u2019 ahead of Friday\u2019s game in an effort to halt Wrexham\u2019s quality from wide areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think, all in all, that was a really good performance from us,\u201d said Moore. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe haven\u2019t been pretty all season, and now\u2019s the time that we\u2019re not worried about being pretty, we\u2019re worried about results. I just think the way we battled today and the way we limited Wrexham in their chances and their threats.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe worked tirelessly all week. We actually worked really, really hard on dealing with the crosses. We know they are really good at doing that.
