Dying For Sex has been hailed as \u2018one of the best shows\u2019 out right now, following one woman\u2019s sex-capades as she faces certain death.<\/p>\n

It stars\u00a0Manchester by the Sea<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0Michelle Williams<\/a>\u00a0as Molly Kochan, a woman who was diagnosed with terminal cancer<\/a> and had an unusual coping mechanism.<\/p>\n

She left her husband of 15 years and embarked on a boink-filled journey<\/a> to explore her sexuality to its fullest extent before it was too late.<\/p>\n

Based on the true story of Molly\u2019s life<\/a>, originally shared in a podcast<\/a> of almost 200 episodes, Dying For Sex has been hailed as unmissable.<\/p>\n

Created by\u00a0New Girl<\/a>\u2019s Elizabeth Meriwether and Kim Rosenstock,\u00a0the eight-part limited series is now available to watch in the UK on Disney Plus.<\/p>\n

Despite the eye-catching title, early reviews from several publications suggest there\u2019s also plenty of emotional depth to this unexpected raunchy tale.<\/p>\n

Some critics<\/a> have referred to Dying For Sex as \u2018revolutionary TV,\u2019 claiming that the series takes a valuable, subversive look at sex from a female perspective.<\/p>\n

Despite its heavy subject matter, the series has also been referred to as \u2018a joy\u2019 by The Independent<\/a>, with the eight-part series promising to offer up an equal amount of tears and laughter.<\/p>\n

Critics have also poured glowing praise over the performance of comedian and actress Jenny Slate, who stars in the series as Kochan\u2019s friend Nikki Boyer.<\/p>\n

With Observer<\/a> critics referring to her performance as \u2018deliriously delightful,\u2019 Jenny\u2019s chemistry with Michelle Williams has drawn particular attention from those who\u2019ve watched the series.<\/p>\n

On X, @PabiraMakau said, \u2018Dying For Sex is the best show on Disney right now,\u2019 while @ItsMearaBrady commented, \u2018Michelle Williams is so so so so so good in Dying For Sex.\u2019<\/p>\n

@RichardERoeper commented: \u2018Michelle Williams will earn another Emmy nomination for her brilliant, warm, funny and devastatingly effective performance in Dying For Sex. Jenny Slate deserves supporting actress consideration for some of the best work of her career. The final episode is masterful.\u2019<\/p>\n

In 2015, Kochan was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer for a second time, despite already undergoing chemotherapy, a bilateral mastectomy, radiation therapy, and a breast reconstruction.<\/p>\n

After recording all six episodes of the podcast with Boyer, the real-life Kochan died in 2019 at the age of 45 \u2013 the episodes were released after her death and were downloaded five million times.<\/p>\n

The podcast synopsis states: \u2018As they peel back the layers, we learn that Molly isn\u2019t just grappling with breast cancer: she\u2019s also dealing with some trauma from her past.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018Along the journey, the friends explore bigger themes that affect us all \u2014 like healing, forgiveness and what do we do with the time we have left.\u2019<\/p>\n

In\u00a0one of the episodes, Kochan also explained her decision to leave her husband by saying: \u2018Sexually, we had difficulties before cancer came along. Right before I got diagnosed, I was kind of looking to recharge our sex life\u2026 and then cancer showed up.\u2019<\/p>\n

The original podcast episodes are still available for those who want to listen along while watching the brand new Disney Plus series.<\/p>\n

As well as starring Michelle and Jenny, the cast also includes Sissy Spacek, David Rasche, Jay Duplass, Kelvin Yu, and Catastrophe star Rob Delaney.<\/p>\n
