T\ufeffhe chef who catered Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan’s royal wedding has attempted to teach the Duchess of Sussex<\/a> a thing or two about fine dining.<\/p>\n

Clare Smyth, who runs the Michelin-starred Notting Hill eatery Core, is one of the guests on With Love, Meghan<\/a> which returns to Netflix today.<\/p>\n

The British chef flew to Montecito to appear on the show after Meghan “personally reached out”.<\/p>\n

She is the only guest to appear across the eight episodes with a direct link with Meghan’s former life in the royal family<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meghan lived in the UK for around two years, first with Prince Harry at Nottingham Cottage, at Kensington Palace, and later at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\ufeffSmyth was asked to cater the royal wedding in 2018, cooking for 200 guests at the couple’s private evening wedding reception<\/a> at Frogmore House.<\/p>\n

The wedding menu included potato and roe followed by roast chicken stuffed with sage and onion, a twist on the roast chicken Meghan was cooking the night Harry proposed.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry and Meghan were regulars at Core and \ufeffSmyth told The Times<\/a> she has stayed in touch with the Sussexes.<\/p>\n

Meghan had been hoping for \ufeffSmyth to appear in Season 1 but due to her schedule, the chef was only able to make it work for the second season which was filmed concurrently with the first, which aired in March<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the episode, Smyth and Meghan visit a local fish market and cook “very healthy poached halibut with seasonal vegetables and bone broth”, and bread rolls.<\/p>\n

“Meghan is actually really good at cooking and she’s creative, with a good palate,” Smyth told The Times.<\/p>\n

“She’s pretty good at filleting a fish.”<\/p>\n

“The idea was to teach Meghan how to do fine dining and what goes into that, rather than just something you can make at home,” she added.<\/p>\n

But there was one request by the duchess that \ufeffSmyth was unable to agree to.<\/p>\n

Meghan had hoped to recreate Smyth’s speciality sourdough served at Core that the duchess “loves”.<\/p>\n

However, the bread uses a 20-year-old starter.<\/p>\n

“I told her the process would be too long for the show,” Smyth said.<\/p>\n

Other guests appearing on Season 2 include World Central Kitchen chef Jose Andres, TV chefs David Chang and Christina Tosi, podcaster Jay Shetty, model Chrissy Teigen and Queer Eye stylist Tan France.<\/p>\n

France features in a short promo shared by Meghan overnight on Instagram where there was another appearance of the duchess’ now-famous edible flower sprinkles as they were making French toast.<\/p>\n

“What was that you just added?” he asked after Meghan sprinkled the topping.<\/p>\n

“Flower sprinkles. I love them,” she said.<\/p>\n

“Wow, that’s the gayest s–t I’ve seen in a long time,” France said, prompting Meghan to laugh.<\/p>\n

Meghan’s friends \u2013 makeup artist Daniel Martin, podcaster and businesswoman Jamie Kern Lima and Pilates teacher Heather Dorak \u2013 are among the other guests in Season 2.<\/p>\n

The duchess also revealed her lifestyle brand As ever<\/a>, which \ufeffis run in conjunction with Netflix, will be restocked with products from Tuesday to coincide with the show’s return.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry is not expected to feature in Season 2. He had a brief cameo in the final episode<\/a> of Season 1.<\/p>\n

\ufeffSeason 2 of With Love, Meghan is the latest offering under the Sussexes’ newly-inked deal with Netflix.<\/p>\n

Under the new agreement<\/a>, the streamer will be given first dibs on any ideas the Sussexes come up with rather than funding the couple’s entire production output.\ufeff<\/p>\n

There is also expected to be a Christmas-themed episode<\/a> of With Love, Meghan coming in December.<\/p>\n
