{"id":373376,"date":"2025-08-25T22:07:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T22:07:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/373376\/"},"modified":"2025-08-25T22:07:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T22:07:14","slug":"trump-slaps-new-tariffs-on-uk-goods-blindsiding-manufacturers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/373376\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump Slaps New Tariffs on UK Goods, Blindsiding Manufacturers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Donald Trump has blindsided UK manufacturers by slapping fresh tariffs of up to 25 per cent on more than 400 categories of British goods, from shampoo and children\u2019s highchairs to motorcycles and diggers.<\/p>\n<p>Conservative shadow trade secretary Andrew Griffith accused ministers of failing to protect exporters, saying: \u201cWhen it comes to protecting UK businesses from US tariffs, Starmer is \u2018all hat, no cattle\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis \u2018tiny tariff\u2019 agreement turns out to have more holes than one of Donald Trump\u2019s golf courses and the trade secretary doesn\u2019t even know what tariffs apply where.
