The rooves of two other terraced houses are also alight. Half of the roof of a fifth house is also alight. Local residents are advised to keep their windows and doors shut due to smoke travel in the area. One of the Brigade's 32-metre turntable ladders is being used as a water tower to help tackle the fire from above. Control Officers took the first of 36 calls at 1604 and have mobilised crews from Hendon, West Hampstead, Mill Hill and surrounding fire stations to the scene. Huge Response Control officers received 36 emergency calls about the incident. Crews from Hendon, West Hampstead, Mill Hill, and surrounding fire stations have been mobilised to the scene. Photos and video from nearby residents show thick smoke rising above Burnt Oak as firefighters work to contain the flames. Cause Not Yet Known The cause of the fire has not yet been established. There are no immediate reports of casualties. (Pictures: UKNIP)<\/p>\n<p>Residents are being urged to stay away from the area until the fire is under control.<\/p>\n<p>Deirdre Hackett, 75, and her husband Kevin, 78, were watching television when the fire started at the back of the house next door.<\/p>\n<p>She told\u00a0<strong>Metro: \u2018<\/strong>Our neighbour was banging on our door for us to get out. He said he was out when it started. We were in a panic. It went up so quickly, but it felt like it took an age for the firefighters to get there.<\/p>\n<p>The grandmother-of-six added: \u2018My grandchildren\u2019s school uniforms are in there and 50 years of memories and keepsakes. We will probably sit in the park for the night. We\u2019ve got two chairs we\u2019ll sit here for the night.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>A pensioner who has lived in her end-of-terrace home for 50 years said she has \u2018lost everything\u2019 in the fire.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018All those memories\u2019, she said as she was consoled by a family member.<\/p>\n<p>One woman wrote on Facebook: \u2018Sad to say that the roofs are collapsing like stacks of dominoes.
