Emergency services descended on an Oldham <\/a>street after a man climbed onto a roof.<\/p>\n

Officers<\/a> were called out to Counthill Road at around 9.50am this morning (August 25).<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> says it responded to reports of a disturbance involving a man on a roof.<\/p>\n

Two fire engines and two specialist appliances from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene.<\/p>\n

Images from the scene showed a number of properties inside a cordon.<\/p>\n

Multiple GMP vehicles attended the scene, including a Tactical Aid Unit van.<\/p>\n

The man was detained by officers before being arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine.<\/p>\n

A GMP spokesperson said: “We were called at around 9.50am to a report of a disturbance which involved a man on the roof of an address on Counthill Road, Oldham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Officers responded and, within half an hour, the man was safely detained. He\u2019s been arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine and taken to custody.<\/p>\n

“We remain on scene to continue enquiries. The occupants inside the address are safely accounted for.”<\/p>\n
