{"id":373564,"date":"2025-08-25T23:55:20","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T23:55:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/373564\/"},"modified":"2025-08-25T23:55:20","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T23:55:20","slug":"man-strangled-partner-and-stabbed-her-with-knife-and-fork-in-brutal-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/373564\/","title":{"rendered":"Man strangled partner and stabbed her with knife and fork in brutal attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A man has been found guilty of carrying out a brutal domestic attack on his partner after an Old Firm game.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Joseph Mulheron turned on the woman at her flat in Glasgow\u2019s Castlemilk on April 7, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The 54-year-old was enraged as he falsely accused the woman of cheating on him with his brother.<\/p>\n<p>Mulheron repeatedly beat his partner, strangled her and stabbed her with a knife and fork.<\/p>\n<p>Mulheron was found guilty of assaulting his then-partner to her severe injury and danger of life.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0court\u00a0heard that the pair had been at a local bar to watch Rangers and Celtic draw 3-3 at Ibrox.<\/p>\n<p>The pair returned home where Mulheron claimed that she had cheated with his brother.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutor Ryan Watson told jurors in his closing speech: \u201cShe described him going for her, punching her repeatedly on the face using both hands.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe described being hit like how a man would be hit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was pulled by her hair to the ground then he continued to kick her all over her body.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The woman lay in the foetal position for her safety while Mulheron \u201claid into\u201d her.<\/p>\n<p>Mulheron then struck her on the head with her mobile phone and smashed it.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Watson added: \u201cMulheron then stabbed her on the head with a fork and placed two hands around her throat and squeezed, choked and strangled her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The woman believed that Mulheron was going to kill her during the horror ordeal.<\/p>\n<p>Mulheron took a kitchen knife and threatened to \u201ccut\u201d her with it then put it against her face.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Watson said: \u201cWhen he was on top of her, he proceeded to drop the knife on her head and laughed as he did it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mulheron left the flat as just as her mother entered in a planned visit.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201chysterical\u201d woman told her mother what Mulheron had done to her before she was taken to the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>She was found to have suffered facial swelling, bruising to her face and abdominal pain.
