The entire bid was a fixed fee, and was a British record in that category. It was rejected quickly and emphatically. Liverpool have stuck to their \u2018no new bid\u2019 stance since.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c#LFC prepared to pay around \u00a3120m if they bid again. Never directly quoted \u00a3150m, and no expectation that number will be met, or close. Liverpool believe doing so would distort the market and weaken their position for future deals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jacobs has also revealed an update on Newcastle\u2019s search for a replacement, while they face an \u201cuntenable\u201d Isak situation.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cNewcastle continue to seek strikers, but sources say Yoane Wissa or J\u00f8rgen Stand Larsen are Callum Wilson replacements. Several other targets explored.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNewcastle have felt for much of the summer that Isak staying without signing a new deal is untenable.
