Five people have been taken to two hospitals in Northern Ireland following a serious crash close to Castledawson.<\/p>\n

Emergency services including the PSNI and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the collision close to the Glenshane Road and Tamnadeese Road area this morning.<\/p>\n

NIAS confirmed they sent six ambulances to the incident. The Air Ambulance service also attended.<\/p>\n

News Catch Up – Monday 25th August<\/p>\n

A NIAS spokesperson said: \u201cThe Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 06:45 on Tuesday 26th August, following reports of an RTC in the Tamnadeese Road area, Castledawson.<\/p>\n

\u201cNIAS dispatched six emergency ambulances to the scene.<\/p>\n

“The charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board were also tasked to the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing assessment and initial treatment at the scene, three people were taken to Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast by ambulance. Another two people were taken to Antrim Area Hospital by ambulance.\u201d<\/p>\n

A PSNI spokesperson added: \u201cMotorists are advised that the northbound lane of the Glenshane Road, Castledawson, is closed to traffic from the Castledawson roundabout, due to a serious road traffic collision.<\/p>\n
