{"id":374618,"date":"2025-08-26T09:50:23","date_gmt":"2025-08-26T09:50:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/374618\/"},"modified":"2025-08-26T09:50:23","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T09:50:23","slug":"what-we-learnt-from-second-series-of-with-love-meghan-including-what-the-duchess-of-sussex-misses-about-the-uk-us-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/374618\/","title":{"rendered":"What we learnt from second series of With Love, Meghan &#8211; including what the Duchess of Sussex misses about the UK | US News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The second season of the Duchess of Sussex&#8217;s lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, has been released.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Over the eight-episode series, which features celebrity guests including US model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen and Queer Eye&#8217;s Tan France, Meghan opens up about what she misses most about the UK, the meal she cooked on the night Prince Harry proposed, and who said &#8220;I love you&#8221; first.<\/p>\n<p>Despite <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/topic\/prince-harry-5826\/1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Harry<\/a><\/strong> not making a cameo in the Netflix show, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/topic\/duchess-of-sussex-7613\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meghan<\/a><\/strong> does give some insight into her life in California with the prince, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what we learnt from the duchess.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Harry saying &#8216;I love you&#8217; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In one episode, with British fashion designer France, Meghan says it was Harry who first said he loved her.<\/p>\n<p>She adds that she fell in love with him while camping in Botswana, the pair&#8217;s third date.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We met in Bostwana and we camped for five days together,&#8221; she says, adding: &#8220;You really get to know someone when you are in a little tent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>          <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"sdc-article-image__item\" loading=\"lazy\" intrinsicsize=\"768x432\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/skynews-harry-meghan_6904298.jpg\"   alt=\"Harry and Meghan on the day they announced their engagement. Pic: PA<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8216;Terrible&#8217; chicken<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the fourth episode with American chef and TV host Samin Nosrat, Meghan reveals she tried to make a roast chicken on the night Harry proposed in 2017, but it didn&#8217;t turn out how she expected.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I will say when I made a roast chicken for my now-husband I was still having a lot of challenges with the conversion of celsius and fahrenheit. I made a horrible chicken that night. I mean, truly terrible,&#8221; she says.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The point is you can make a terrible chicken and someone is still going to appreciate the thought.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Missing UK radio station <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After first getting married, Meghan had planned to apply for British citizenship. Pic: Netflix\/PA<\/p>\n<p>In episode three, with Tan France, Meghan admits one of the things she &#8220;misses the most&#8221; about the UK, after leaving five years ago.<\/p>\n<p>She says: &#8220;Honestly, one of the things I miss the most about the UK is the radio station called Magic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To which France quips: &#8220;Magic FM. Wow! Now, sorry to say this to you publicly, but that&#8217;s such a grandma station.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A laughing Meghan replies: &#8220;I&#8217;ll be that grandma.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duchess &#8216;not well&#8217; when away from her children<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Later in episode three, when the pair are crafting aprons for their children, Meghan says she &#8220;always wanted to be a mum&#8221;, which is now &#8220;better than she expected&#8221; after the birth of Archie, in 2019, and Lilibet &#8211; who they call Lili for short &#8211; in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>          <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"sdc-article-image__item\" loading=\"lazy\" intrinsicsize=\"768x432\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/skynews-meghan-duchess-of-success_7001531.jpg\"   alt=\"Meghan and Chrissy Teigen. We really wanted people to appreciate where every ingredient was coming from,&#8221; she says.<\/p>\n<p>The three-Michelin starred chef revealed that she also devised a special fried chicken recipe to serve as a &#8220;late-night bite&#8221; at the wedding, which she now serves as an &#8220;off menu&#8221; item at her restaurant Core.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our off menu item is the fried chicken at Core,&#8221; Meghan says, adding: &#8220;If that&#8217;s my claim to fame.
