{"id":374956,"date":"2025-08-26T12:50:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-26T12:50:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/374956\/"},"modified":"2025-08-26T12:50:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T12:50:14","slug":"city-now-pushing-for-brazil-star-who-is-open-to-deal-in-guardiolas-next-move","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/374956\/","title":{"rendered":"City now &#8216;pushing&#8217; for Brazil star who is &#8216;open&#8217; to deal in Guardiola&#8217;s &#8216;next move&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Man City are now \u201cpushing\u201d to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid this summer as they look for a replacement for Jack Grealish, according to reports.<\/p>\n<p>The Citizens have got a plethora of attacking options at their disposal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/every-premier-league-transfer-release-completed-summer-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>with Rayan Cherki coming into the team over the summer transfer window<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/manchester-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Man City<\/strong><\/a> are still looking to add another winger to their squad after allowing Jack Grealish to move to Premier League rivals Evert0n over the summer.<\/p>\n<p>One of their main targets in that position is Real Madrid winger Rodrygo with rumours that he will allowed to leave the Bernabeu this summer.<\/p>\n<p>After being left out of the starting XI of their opening La Liga match of the season against Osasuna, Rodrygo was surprisingly given a starting berth over the weekend against Real Oviedo.<\/p>\n<p>And Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso had praise for the Brazil star in his post-match comments, he said:\u00a0\u201cHe had a good game. Oviedo were quite deep and it was difficult to find the space, but I liked it. After last week, we needed everyone, and Rodrygo is one of them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rodrygo was recently left out of next Brazil squad too and new boss Carlo Ancelotti said the Real Madrid winger could call him for an explanation any time.<\/p>\n<p>Ancelotti said: \u201cIf they want explanations, they can call me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think Rodrygo has my number. I don\u2019t know if Neymar does, but he probably does. \u201cI have a lot of love for Rodrygo. It\u2019s important.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are a lot of signs that Rodrygo could be on the move this summer in order to look for regular game time and reclaim his place in the Brazil squad in time for the 2026 World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>And now former Man Utd and Tottenham scout Mick Brown \u2013 who is still well-connected in the Premier League \u2013 insists Man City are now \u201cpushing\u201d for Rodrygo.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/man-city-pushing-to-sign-rodrygo-after-savinho-to-tottenham-update\/\" target=\"_blank\">Brown told Football Insider<\/a>: \u201cRodrygo is one Man City\u00a0are\u00a0pushing for. They\u2019ve got so many players in wide areas already, but they\u2019ve lost Grealish so perhaps they feel there\u2019s a space he has left in the squad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s been talk about Savinho as well maybe going to Tottenham, but I don\u2019t think he has to leave before they bring somebody else in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom City\u2019s perspective, they\u2019d happily have both of them to give them that strength in depth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI always think Pep Guardiola has to decide on what his first-choice wide-men are, because at the moment he chops and changes and it can be inconsistent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I think if Rodrygo is available, and I think he will be because he\u2019s not a crucial part of that Real Madrid team, he will be of interest to them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s a move the player will be open to as well.
