The latest name linked with a move to the Owls is a shock and not one that will likely fill Wednesday fans with excitement. According to Football League World<\/a>, Wrexham<\/a> forward Ollie Palmer is on the radar of Sheffield Wednesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Palmer is yet to feature for Wrexham<\/a> in the Championship this season. However, he has played in the Carabao Cup<\/a>, scoring twice in the victory over Hull City<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> are in need<\/a> of players before the window closes. They have picked up just one point in their opening three games of the year, ironically coming last time out against Palmer\u2019s Wrexham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bristol Rovers<\/a>, Crawley Town<\/a>, Cambridge United<\/a> and Salford City<\/a> have all also been named as keen. MK Dons<\/a> and AFC Wimbledon<\/a> have also been credited with interest.<\/p>\n

Palmer first entered the EFL in 2013 with Mansfield Town<\/a>, before making the move to League Two side Leyton Orient<\/a>. He went on to enjoy seven seasons at League One level, featuring for Luton Town<\/a>, Lincoln City<\/a>, Crawley Town<\/a>, as well as former clubs Mansfield and Orient, before AFC Wimbledon<\/a> secured the services of the 6\u20195\u2033 target man.<\/p>\n

Though his spell at Wimbledon lasted just a season and a half, Palmer has often spoken fondly of his time there, remarks that only add weight to rumours of a possible return. His switch to the National League with Wrexham<\/a> was a shock, considering his ability.<\/p>\n

Since then, he has racked up nearly 150 appearances in a Wrexham<\/a> shirt across three divisions. However, throughout his career, he has never played in the Championship; perhaps with SWFC, he could get his chance.<\/p>\n

After a busy start to the window, off-field troubles<\/a> have led to a quiet summer. So many sales occurred at the beginning of the summer, so not many assets are left.<\/p>\n

Pierce Charles\u2019 injury likely means he will be staying for now too. Any links to the club must be taken with a pinch of salt too.<\/p>\n
