But what about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s kids, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4? Their dad is British and their mom American — so what accent do they have? Markle opened up about how her kids talk on Season 2 of With Love, Meghan, and it sounds like they have the cutest mix of both parents.

In episode 206, Markle cooks with Chef Clare Smyth. They get to chatting about Markle’s kids, and she revealed that the kids have a hybrid accent, per PEOPLE. She shared, “They both say ‘zeb-rah’ though instead of zebra.” So cute! I love how kids will pick up these little pronunciation differences, despite growing up and going to school in America. It’s adorable!

More from SheKnows

WITH LOVE, MEGHAN, (aka WITH LOVE MEGHAN), from left: host Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (aka Meghan Markle), Clare Smyth, (Season 2, ep. 206, aired Aug. 26, 2025). photo: ©Netflix / Courtesy Everett Collection

When the cook with their mom, however, it’s all American. “Papa’s not cooking as much,” she added, explaining why the kids don’t have any British terms in the kitchen.

It makes sense. Growing up as part of the British royal family, Harry always had chefs to cook for him. (Plus, the occasional trip to McDonald’s with his mom, Princess Diana!) So, we can imagine why he never developed a love for cooking (I mean, who would in those circumstances?!).

The Duchess of Sussex also got vulnerable about a difficult time in her and Prince Harry’s life: when they had to be separated from their kids for nearly three weeks due to Queen Elizabeth II’s death in 2022. In episode 203 with Tan France, Markle shared that motherhood is “better than I ever expected.”

<img alt="CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA - SEPTEMBER 25: Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and their baby son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu and his daughter Thandeka Tutu-Gxashe at the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation during their royal tour of South Africa on September 25, 2019 in Cape Town, South Africa.
