Manchester United will be eyeing their first victory of the season when they face Grimsby Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup at Blundell Park on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

The Reds<\/a> are entering the competition at the second round stage for the first time in more than a decade as a result of failing to qualify for Europe this season.<\/p>\n

Following their opening day defeat to Arsenal and Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Fulham, Ruben Amorim’s<\/a> troops will be determined to seal their first win of the campaign on the Lincolnshire coast against a Grimsby side who have won each of their opening three home games this term.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the midweek trip to the coast, here is all the very latest on the United injury front…<\/p>\n

Noussair Mazraoui<\/p>\n

Injury<\/strong>: unspecified<\/p>\n

Including pre-season friendlies, Moroccan international Mazraoui<\/a> has missed United’s last six matches. He featured in the first half of United’s pre-season opener against Leeds United in Stockholm in July but has not played since.<\/p>\n

He travelled to the United States for the pre-season tour but failed to make a matchday squad. He was also absent for the Premier League<\/a> clashes with Arsenal and Fulham.<\/p>\n

Although United have not disclosed the details of Mazraoui’s injury, Amorim has confirmed he is edging closer towards a return and could be involved against Burnley at Old Trafford<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n

“Maybe he is going to return next week, we will see,” Amorim said of the defender. “But he is near. We are just finishing some drills with him to be sure he is not going to have another problem.”<\/p>\n

Possible return date: <\/strong>August 30 (Burnley H).<\/p>\n

Injury: <\/strong>anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)<\/p>\n

Martinez<\/a> has been absent since suffering an ACL injury in United’s 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford back in February. He underwent successful surgery and has been on the comeback trail ever since.<\/p>\n

He went to the US with the rest of his teammates last month and conducted some gym sessions and was pictured training outside on the grass.<\/p>\n

United have not put a specific timeframe on how much longer it will be before he returns.<\/p>\n
