Kirk mused that one of the reasons Swift had been so \u201cannoyingly liberal over the last couple of years\u201d was the fact that she was not yet married, and at multiple points repeated that he would love to see her have a \u201cton of children.\u201d<\/p>\n
Marrying Kelce \u2013 who previously said that having Donald Trump attend this year\u2019s Super Bowl was an \u201chonor\u201d \u2013 would potentially \u201cde-radicalize\u201d her, he said.<\/p>\n

Kirk added that Swift “might go from a cat lady to a JD Vance supporter\u2026 and I think we should celebrate that. She should have more children than she has houses.\u201d He added, “Up until this point, that’s not a great role model for young women to wait all the way until you’re 35 and just put your career first.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kirk\u2019s comments sparked disbelief on social media, with one user writing: \u201cwhy is a grown man spending his day thinking about this,\u201d with another adding \u201cthis dude is so weird.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite Kirk\u2019s controversial comments on the announcement, other conservatives were more positive about Swift\u2019s engagement \u2013 including the president himself.<\/p>\n
Trump, who has been very vocal in his criticism of the pop star previously, especially following her endorsement of his former political rival Kamala Harris, was asked about the news by a reporter Tuesday.<\/p>\n
