Daniel Farke and Leeds United\u2019s players will go into training on Wednesday morning amid the fallout of Tuesday night\u2019s dismal defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, exiting The Carabao Cup early.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Leeds<\/a> were expected to cruise into the third round of the competition as they came up against a side that are a mess financially off the pitch, and it has seen the side stripped of their best players on the pitch.<\/p>\n

Daniel Farke<\/a> named a side that was full of international talent, even if he made nine changes. Seven of the XI have played for their country, while Ilia Gruev, Joel Piroe, Sam Byram and Sean Longstaff also started.<\/p>\n

Yet, Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s kids took the lead through Karl Darlow\u2019s mistake, before beating Leeds in the penalty shootout after Jayden Bogle\u2019s equaliser. A woeful performance and even worse, the result.<\/p>\n

It was a woeful night for Leeds, with Farke hoping his side won back some momentum after a 5-0 loss to Arsenal and Newcastle at Elland Road<\/a> up next. But the worst possible scenario unravelled before his eyes.<\/p>\n

Brenden Aaronson<\/a> came into the starting line-up for the first time this season, while Joel Piroe<\/a> started for the third time in three games. Jon Newsome<\/a> told BBC Radio Leeds<\/a> that Leeds should have sold the duo.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was just so negative wasn\u2019t he [Aaronson]. Everytime the ball came out to him, his first touch was backwards. You\u2019re playing against kids. Aaronson, Piroe \u2013 are they good enough for the Premier League?<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not too sure they are. Sometimes you have to make difficult decisions and sometimes you have to offload people and bring people in. It\u2019s never too late. It is a tough ask to happen in the next six days.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut surely it is a decision they should have made sooner. In my opinion, Brenden Aaronson wasn\u2019t good enough in the Championship, so he\u2019s not going to be good enough for the Premier League,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Even if Leeds wanted to sell Piroe and Aaronson before Monday\u2019s deadline, the chances of Leeds finding any suitors for the duo is unlikely. Piroe cost Leeds \u00a316m<\/a>, while Aaronson was a \u00a325m signing in 2022.<\/p>\n

A combined \u00a341m was spent on both. If Leeds were to sell either, they would almost certainly make a loss on both players and that is not a good look in the eyes of Profit & Sustainability Rules moving forward.<\/p>\n

Two players are set to be sold by Leeds in the next few days.
