An expensive Audi Q2<\/a> has been “wrecked” after allegedly hitting a pothole in Glasgow with the driver now left having to pay \u00a3350 on repairs.<\/p>\n Richard Craig, 41, claims he was driving along the Clydeside Expressway<\/a>, heading towards Anniesland industrial estate, when he felt a bump on Friday morning, April 11. He knew he had hit a pothole, but “didn’t know how bad it was.”<\/p>\n He eventually stopped at the BP petrol station on Crow Road<\/a>, in the Jordanhill area and got out the car to inspect the damage. It was then Richard noticed the left passenger-side tyre “hanging off,” reports Glasgow Live.<\/a><\/p>\n He explained: “I was driving along the Expressway <\/a>as normal. Then I thought \u2018whoa, what was that?\u2019 I knew I had gone through a pothole but didn\u2019t know exactly how bad it was.<\/p>\n “When I pulled over, that\u2019s when I saw the tyre <\/a>was wrecked. Luckily, the alloy was okay but there was damage around the wheel arch and bits underneath my car as well – it’s an expensive car.”<\/p>\n Richard was forced to abandon his car at the petrol station<\/a> and ran all the way to his work to avoid being late. During his shift, he had called for help and claimed to have spent \u00a3100 to get the tyre fixed the same day.<\/p>\n However, he argued the bodywork<\/a> has also been damaged which is costing him another \u00a3250 to repair.<\/p>\n He added: “If I drove for another three or four minutes, my alloy would have been destroyed and that isn\u2019t cheap.<\/p>\n “Frankly, I am hacked off because it\u2019s cost me a lot of money and I like to keep my car nice and good. I was anxious that my car might be more damaged <\/a>than it was, thankfully it wasn\u2019t.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m not happy with Glasgow City Council <\/a>but I am not really surprised because the number of bad potholes in Glasgow are ridiculous. It is shocking.
