On Tuesday, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told CNBC that the Pentagon is having “a monstrous discussion” over whether to acquire equity stakes in firms such as Lockheed Martin.

Likewise, Trump’s early assaults on Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell turned out to be just his opening salvo on the central bank. On Monday night stateside, the U.S. leader terminated Lisa Cook, a Fed governor, over allegations of mortgage fraud. By contrast, the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average have delivered less than 15% annualized returns over the past decade.

But mainland Chinese investors have matured since then. Various crises wiped out many portfolios. Now, investors in China are less likely to chase single-stock stories, while holding shares longer and aiming for steady 5% to 10% returns, Jin said.

— Evelyn Cheng

U.S. President Donald Trump in the Cabinet Room of the White House on Aug. 26, 2025 in Washington,…

[5311
15249,15193,5464,5466,3085,7426,115675,32,1700,14009,2441,8572,285,106548,49,978,659,2726
0":"post-378116","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-united-states","8":"tag-advanced-micro-devices-inc","9":"tag-asia-economy","10":"tag-breaking-news-economy","11":"tag-breaking-news-politics","12":"tag-business-news","13":"tag-cac-40-index","14":"tag-caterpillar-inc","15":"tag-donald-trump","16":"tag-economy","17":"tag-howard-lutnick","18":"tag-markets","19":"tag-nvidia-corp","20":"tag-politics","21":"tag-richard-nixon","22":"tag-united-states","23":"tag-us","24":"tag-usa","25":"tag-world-markets
["GET
