The classic tale of The Hand That Rocks the Cradle <\/strong>is coming back to the screen with a new movie from 20th Century Studios, with Maika Monroe<\/strong> (Longlegs) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead<\/strong>\u00a0(Birds of Prey) starring in the remake of the early 1990s thriller.<\/p>\n

Michelle Garza Cervera<\/strong>, who came onto the scene in 2023 with the incredible horror movie Huesera: The Bone Woman<\/a>, directed the new movie for 20th Century Studios, and People<\/a> has shared the first images this afternoon. Check them out down below.<\/p>\n

The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (2025) premieres October 22 on Hulu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe studio gave me all the chances to recreate the whole thing and build a new story, new characters, with its own heart. I think that was the best way to honor the original, not try to redo it,\u201d Garza Cervera told the outlet. \u201cWe build a whole different kind of thriller. It\u2019s actually more of a slow burn.\u201d<\/p>\n

People details, \u201cMaika Monroe is the seemingly sweet Polly, hired by suburban couple Claire & Michael Bartel (Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Ra\u00fal Castillo<\/strong>) to care for their baby. But Polly\u2019s true motives have little to do with singing lullabies \u2014 much to the horror of the Bartels.\u201d<\/p>\n

Micah Bloomberg<\/strong>\u00a0wrote the screenplay for the upcoming remake.<\/p>\n
