Month-on-month ad volumes were up by 1 percent in five regions, including Canterbury, Hawkes Bay, Southland, Tasman and West Coast.<\/p>\n
Regions with year-on-year volume growth included Canterbury (7 percent), Wellington (6 percent) and Otago (5 percent).<\/p>\n
There was also growth in the number of jobs available in the information and communication technology sector, which had been rising steadily since November.<\/p>\n
“More recently, we have seen an uptick in demand for construction workers and engineers, which is something we can expect to continue with big investment in the sector.”<\/p>\n
Ad volumes within the construction and professional services sectors saw month-on-month volume growth of 1 percent, with steep demand for construction — up 13 percent since September.<\/p>\n
