Nigel Farage<\/a> and Ed Miliband squared off over Net Zero yesterday, with the Reform leader predicting the issue could become the ‘new Brexit<\/a>‘.<\/p>\n

Mr Farage branded the Government’s Net Zero targets ‘lunacy’ which threaten to decimate working-class communities as ‘green’ jobs are created abroad at the expense of workers in traditional industries here.<\/p>\n

But Mr Miliband, the Cabinet Minister for Net Zero, hit back, accusing the Reform leader of spreading dangerous ‘nonsense and lies’.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The spat highlights how the issue is likely to become a key battleground between the parties as they scrap for votes in\u00a0Labour<\/a>‘s traditional Red Wall seats.<\/p>\n

Reform is hoping to win hundreds of seats in the local elections<\/a> on May 1.<\/p>\n

It could also snatch the parliamentary seat of Runcorn and Helsby in a by-election the same day. And yesterday a shock poll said Reform was on course to win the next general election<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The More In Common survey of 16,000 voters found the party would win 180 seats, compared to 165 each for the\u00a0Tories<\/a> and Labour, if an election were held tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Mr Farage told The Sun on Sunday: ‘Why would you export manufacturing and then re-import the goods? All you’ve done is, you’ve exported CO2 emissions and actually added to them in many cases. The lunacy of this. This could be the next Brexit, where Parliament is so hopelessly out of touch with the country.’<\/a><\/p>\n
