SCOTS were in need of Easter Bonnets yesterday \u2013 to protect them from blazing Bank Holiday sunshine.<\/p>\n

The country shrugged off the weather<\/a> blues of the previous week to mark the most important date in the Christian calendar.<\/p>\n

Parks were full of kids rolling their eggs and adults made the most of the day-long rays by enjoying a coffee or drink al fresco.<\/p>\n

Thousands of Celtic and St Johnstone<\/a> supporters basked in \u2018Taps aff\u2019 weather at the national stadium for their Scottish Cup semi-final clash at Hampden.<\/a><\/p>\n

At Rouken Glen Park in Giffnock, Glasgow<\/a>, families enjoyed fun on the swings and picnics above the park\u2019s boating pond.<\/p>\n

The good news is that after a soggy Easter Monday afternoon, it\u2019s blue sky time once again, just in time for the kids returning to school following the Easter break.<\/p>\n

Sunny spells and dry weather are forecast for tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday.<\/p>\n

And the Met Office<\/a> long-term forecast for Thursday onwards states: \u201cMainly dry across the UK<\/a> at the start of this period.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome light rain or showers are possible across southern and western areas, but other regions will be brighter with spells of sunshine.<\/p>\n

\u201cInto the weekend, this is likely to be little change with most areas fine and dry.<\/p>\n

\u201cInto the final days of April and start of May, high pressure is likely to be the dominant weather pattern.<\/p>\n

\u201cFine and dry weather is expected for the majority of the UK with periods of sunshine. Winds are likely to be light with temperatures close to or slightly above normal.\u201d<\/p>\n

There were some difficulties on the roads yesterday. The A82 in the Highlands was blocked in both directions between Letterfinlay and Laggan, due to an accident.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow, a year of disruption on the south side of Glasgow comes to an end<\/a> when Thornliebank Road is re-opened following a \u00a35.5 million rebuild of a railway bridge.<\/p>\n

The work, which caused snarl-ups along many routes, is part of a \u00a3140 million electrification of the Glasgow to East Kilbride line.<\/p>\n
