Grant Harrold, a former butler to King Charles<\/a>, has shared his insights on the possibility of a reconciliation between Prince Harry<\/a> and the rest of the Royal family. Harrold, who served as the King’s butler at Highgrove from 2004 to 2011, had a front-row seat to the relationship between Princes William and Harry during their late teens and early twenties.<\/p>\n

In a new tell-all book, Harrold revealed to the Mirror<\/a> just how “inseparable” the princes were before their years-long rift took hold. This revelation comes as Meghan Markle<\/a> criticizes a ‘silly’ Royal rule she had to follow ‘all the time’.<\/p>\n

Harrold stated, “William and Harry<\/a> were so close, as brothers go. With many siblings, you can be close as children and then maybe drift a bit as you grow up in your late teens and early 20s, but William and Harry were the opposite.<\/p>\n

“I don’t know if it’s because of their mother’s death, but they were inseparable. They were hanging out together, going to pubs together, just having fun together.”<\/p>\n

Given his first-hand experience of the princes’ relationship, Harrold noted that there were “never signs of any rift”, adding: “If I had been told all those years ago that they were going to fall out, I would’ve bet \u00a3100 that it would never happen.”<\/p>\n

“Even when the rumors first started, I was publicly assuring the press that they would never fall out, that’s how confident I was. And when all the conflict really kicked off, I found myself wondering, ‘Why has this all gone so horribly wrong?’ I couldn’t make sense of it because now they’re not even talking to each other, and they used to be in constant communication. It’s truly heartbreaking.”<\/p>\n

When questioned about his views on a potential Royal reconciliation, Harrold suggested that if the Sussexes and the Royal family ever reunited, it would be a far cry from their relationship before Harry and Meghan’s departure from the Firm.<\/p>\n

“Families have disagreements, and families can mend, but it’s never quite the same,” he expressed. “So yes, I can envision a reconciliation, I can see Harry returning, but not to the Firm as it once was.<\/p>\n

“I don’t foresee Harry and Meghan ever appearing on the Palace balcony for Trooping the Colour, for instance, but I can imagine the family mending fences behind closed doors and working towards the King seeing his grandchildren [Archie and Lilibet].<\/p>\n

“I believe that’s what they’re striving for. They might be thinking ‘Let’s just be a family behind closed doors and move past this rift from our perspective, not from the public’s perspective’.”<\/p>\n

However, considering Harry and Meghan’s history of making allegations against the Royal family, Harrold cautioned the Sussexes about misusing their new Netflix deal.<\/p>\n

“Are there more books coming? Are there more documentaries coming?” he questioned. “We don’t know, and I really hope not because that’s the sad bit. As long as they stick to things like Meghan’s lifestyle show and not the tell-all books and documentaries, then there is a possibility for a reunion.”<\/p>\n

Despite numerous calls for a Royal reconciliation, Harrold acknowledged that there have been countless public attacks over the years, making a reunion challenging if it occurs at all.<\/p>\n

He said: “The way things are now is such a mess.
