Who would\u2019ve thought\u2026<\/p>\n<p>After the Jenrick video TfL mounted a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/cvg9r40p749o.amp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defence<\/a>: \u201cIn a statement, it said the fare evasion rate for 2024\/25 was averaging 3.4%.\u201c Slyly that does not refer to the figures for the Underground\u2026<\/p>\n<p>A new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/news\/transport\/fare-dodging-evasion-london-transport-tfl-tube-croydon-tram-dlr-b1244614.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> for an upcoming safety and security panel shows the actual breakdown of fare dodging on the Tube, which peaked at 5.1% in the first and last quarters of last year and was 4.8% across the 12 months. That\u2019s above the 4.1% target and far above the figure TfL put out after Jenrick\u2019s video\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Separately the rate of fare evasion on buses is rising dramatically from <a href=\"https:\/\/tfl.gov.uk\/corporate\/transparency\/freedom-of-information\/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-0889-2526\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1.9%<\/a> in 2023 to 2.6% last year.
