This was followed by Sheffield where dinner<\/a> will cost you \u00a313 on average, and Kingston-upon-Hull, Leicester, and Coventry where a meal will cost you \u00a315 on average in each.<\/p>\n But it isn\u2019t just food where Derry is the best value for consumers.<\/p>\n Thirsty bargain hunters can rejoice as the North West is also home to the cheapest drink in the UK, according to the survey.<\/p>\n The city scores the lowest average price for a beer – weighing in at just \u00a33.97 for a pint.<\/p>\n This is 21% lower than the average across the rest of the UK.<\/p>\n The next most affordable pints can be found in Preston, Kingston-upon-Hull, Coventry and Leicester, where the average cost of a pint is \u00a34.<\/p>\n The top 10 list is rounded off by Sheffield, Stoke-on-Trent, Nottingham, Newport, and, Liverpool where the price of a beer will set you back between \u00a34 and \u00a35.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, a cup of coffee will cost you \u00a33.14 on average in Derry, making it home to one of the most affordable cups.<\/p>\n The survey was commissioned by Fintech firm SumUp in order to find the cheapest destination for food and drink for those planning a staycation.<\/p>\n Corin Camenisch, Product Marketing Lead, at SumUp said: \u201cWith an increased focus on domestic travel, as well as the cost-of-living crisis still being prevalent, we wanted to highlight the most cost-effective cities for a staycation in the UK.
