<\/p>\nThe Kansas City Chiefs\u2019 tight end had a hand in designing the vintage-inspired bling which matches the aesthetic of his fianc\u00e9e\u2019s upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl.<\/p>\n
The couple excited fans around the world when they announced the big news and shared pictures of the diamond which is thought be an 8-10 carat stone worth somewhere between \u00a3500,000 and \u00a34m. <\/p>\n
Gemma Murphy, a jeweller at Jack Murphy\u2019s in Newry and a self-confessed Swiftie, is \u201cdelighted\u201d for her favourite musician and said the engagement has been \u201ca long time coming\u201d. <\/p>\n
\u201cI think Taylor Swift has gotten a lot of media attention for her previous relationships and I think this can really give hope to some people that the right person will come along at the right time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
When it comes to the ring itself, Gemma is more than impressed with the style.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a beautiful elongated cushion style stone with a chunky band with engraving detail,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe thicker bands are becoming more popular which we love to see as jewellers because a lot of people want the heavier stones and a thicker band offers a lot more protection for that centre stone.\u201d<\/p>\n
The expert thinks the 14 time Grammy Award winner\u2019s latest accessory will influence many people\u2019s engagement ring choices and is a more realistic option than the 35 carat diamond that Cristiano Ronaldo gave to Georgina Rodr\u00edguez.<\/p>\n
The massive rock, estimated to be worth $5m (\u00a33.6m), caused gasps when the footballer popped the question earlier this month. <\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s great to see her ring because the last sort of celebrity engagement ring was Ronaldo\u2019s and it was huge, Taylor\u2019s is a lot more moderate, still very big but much more moderate, and a lot more appealing to people,\u201d Gemma said.<\/p>\n
The local jeweller, who specialises in design and creates bespoke pieces, has noticed the style of Taylor\u2019s engagement ring has been increasingly popular in recent years.<\/p>\n
\u201cMost people that come in, they have a sketch that they have done themselves or an image off Pinterest and we will work with them to create their ring,\u201d Gemma said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have seen a lot of people getting an oval stone, especially after Molly Mae\u2019s engagement, she has an oval solitaire so we saw a rise in that. <\/p>\n
\u201cBut then the elongated cushion style has been gradually coming in, you can see it\u2019s a style people are interested in.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kelce had input to the design of the ring with the help of Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewellery.<\/p>\n
Theresa Quinn, from Gold Drop in Armagh, is also impressed with the end result. <\/p>\n

The jeweller thinks final product will lead to many people considering a larger stone when it comes to their own preference. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s an absolutely beautiful ring, I only wish I had the sale of it,\u201d she joked.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf that\u2019s what people want then it\u2019s available \u2013 I would say though, if you do want the larger stone you are much better going for a lab grown diamond because they are a lot more affordable. Especially in the bigger stones.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would see a lot of people leaning towards the lab grown diamonds anyway but just especially if you want something that big,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
However, Theresa encouraged shoppers not to just blindly follow trends.<\/p>\n
\u201cGo for whatever one you want, what suits you,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
