His last appearance for the senior team came in Rob Page’s last game, a goalless draw against Gibraltar.

The 23-year-old has been in form for his club side this season and was named vice-captain by new Bluebirds boss Brian Barry-Murphy. He has flourished in the role, so far this season, he’s picked up three assists and three goals and an assist with Cardiff topping the EFL League One table.

Colwill’s form has been hard to miss, and he’s been performing well alongside his younger brother, who was also said to be close to a senior call-up. I’ve been impressed by both of them. I just want to see it more. I want that consistency. I’m sure that’s going to come. I’ve enjoyed it, I have to be honest. It’s like a reboot, and it needed it.

“You’ll know way more than me because you probably watch them way more than me but I feel that hopefully in the next month or so.

“It’s a question we spoke about before, and we know it’s going to get asked, and it’s different. I’m quite used to it; he’s a person I really like, and I’m enjoying seeing what I’m seeing, but I want to see it continue as well.”

Your next Welsh football read:‘Grange Albion and Port Talbot Town – two Welsh Clubs united by a Wales manager

Craig Bellamy says he wants to see Cardiff City star Rubin Colwill perform consistently regularly for him to…

[5010
748,4884,16,15,1764
0":"post-380174","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-wales","8":"tag-britain","9":"tag-great-britain","10":"tag-uk","11":"tag-united-kingdom","12":"tag-wales
["GET
