Celtic have been told they must back Brendan Rodgers with a number of deals late in the transfer window amid suggestions he could quit.<\/strong><\/p>\n That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider<\/strong> that the 52-year-old expects to be backed before the 1 September transfer deadline.<\/p>\n This comes amid links with the potential managerial opening at Nottingham Forest amid speculation about Nuno Espirito Santo\u2019s future at the City Ground.<\/p>\n Football Insider<\/strong> revealed on 27 August that Rodgers is high on the shortlist at Forest<\/a> and would be firmly in contention for the role should it become available.<\/p>\n Celtic, meanwhile, have been dealt a significant blow to their budget late in the window following their failure to qualify for the Champions League league stage.<\/p>\n However, Football Insider<\/strong>\u00a0revealed in April that\u00a0Rodgers will demand the Celtic board back him<\/a>\u00a0and could grow unhappy at Parkhead if they do not agree.<\/p>\n This article contains exclusive comment from Mick Brown, a could walk away from Celtic<\/a> amid growing frustrations with this summer\u2019s transfer activity at Parkhead.<\/p>\n The former scout, who has a wealth of experience working closely with elite-level managers including the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Ron Atkinson, insisted that the boss will need to be backed if they want to keep him for the foreseeable future. <\/p>\n \u201cBrendan Rodgers expects to be backed in the market,\u201d he told Football Insider.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s been clear about his desire to improve his squad and further the club\u2019s ambitions.<\/p>\n \u201cIf he\u2019s not getting support from the board to improve the team and build upon their recent success, then it wouldn\u2019t surprise me if he walked away.<\/p>\n \u201cCeltic could have no issues about that either, it would be entirely of their own making.<\/p>\n \u201cIf the directors aren\u2019t backing him, then what\u2019s the point of him being there?<\/p>\n \u201cThey need to go into the transfer market and show how much they value him as their manager.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s probably easier said than done, maybe they can\u2019t back him as much as they would like to, but they have to show some sort of effort for him.<\/p>\n \u201cIf he\u2019s unhappy, that gets on to the players, and before you know were you are it\u2019s a very
