Man Utd youngster Alejandro Garnacho is set to swap Old Trafford for Stamford Bridge in the final days of the window.<\/p>\n

Manchester United have agreed to sell Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea for \u00a340million.<\/p>\n

Garnacho has been training on his own at Carrington since July. Chelsea<\/a> have been in negotiations to sign Garnacho and the London club have agreed a \u00a340m fixed fee, which includes a 10 per cent sell-on fee.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old will become United’s<\/a> fourth-highest sale in history, following Cristiano Ronaldo<\/a>, Romelu Lukaku, and Angel Di Maria. Chelsea initially entered discussions by offering \u00a325m for the youngster.<\/p>\n

Garnacho’s sale will also represent the highest-ever sale of a United academy graduate.<\/p>\n

Club sources believe they have negotiated a pragmatic deal for a player who has been pushing strongly to leave, following a deterioration in his relationship with Ruben Amorim.<\/p>\n

Garnacho was dropped for the Manchester derby in December, but was reintegrated back into the squad, unlike Marcus Rashford, who was loaned to Aston Villa in the January window.<\/p>\n

However, there were further discipline issues with Garnacho as the season progressed and the winger questioned Amorim’s decision to name him on the bench for the Europa League<\/a> final against Tottenham.<\/p>\n

When speaking to journalists in the USA<\/a> this summer, Amorim was asked whether it was a shame it hadn’t worked out with Garnacho. He responded: “I think Garnacho you can understand and you can see, he’s talented, he’s a really talented boy. And sometimes things don’t work out.<\/p>\n

“You cannot explain specifically what it is. But I have the feeling, I think it’s clear that Garnacho wants a different thing with a different leadership. And I can understand that.<\/p>\n

“So I think it’s not a problem. Sometimes you adapt to one guy, you have the connection. Other times, you want a new challenge. So, we try to make everything okay to all the parts. To the club, to the coach and to the players. So, it’s a natural thing in football.”<\/p>\n

United completed the signing of Garnacho on a free transfer from Atletico Madrid in September 2020 and after progressing in the academy and winning the FA Youth Cup, the youngster became an established part of the first-team squad.<\/p>\n

Garnacho was handed his senior debut by Ralf Rangnick in April 2022 against Chelsea at Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He developed further with Erik ten Hag in charge during 2022\/2023, contributing six goals and six assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.<\/p>\n

Garnacho consolidated himself as a key player during Ten Hag’s tenure and scored the opening goal in the FA Cup<\/a> final victory against Manchester City<\/a> at Wembley in 2024.<\/p>\n

Garnacho will leave United having scored 26 goals in 144 senior appearances.<\/p>\n

United say Garnacho leaves for Stamford Bridge with their best wishes.<\/p>\n
