in his career.

The striker joined the Peacocks from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2018 and made 205 appearances for the Yorkshire club.

Bamford’s future at Leeds was in doubt all summer, given his astronomical wages, concerning injury record, and waning career.

The Whites officially announced that a mutual agreement had been reached with Bamford to terminate his contract on 28 August.

Now, MOT Leeds News assesses where the 31-year-old could end up, with three possible destinations.

Credit: ImagoBirmingham City can afford Patrick Bamford move

Bamford’s wages were an issue for Leeds, with the forward earning an estimated £70,000 a week, according to Capology.

With that in mind, it would take a club with substantial backing to land the former Chelsea man.

Step up, Birmingham City.

It has been reported that Birmingham, along with several other Championship clubs, were interested in Bamford earlier this summer, although the credibility of those sources is unknown.

The Blues reportedly signed James Stansfield for more than £15million

They have picked up seven points from three games

Birmingham could add more firepower to their attacking arsenal

However, the Blues are one of the clubs that could afford a move for the 31-year-old, given their recent spending and wealthy ownership.

Of course, there is an argument that the West Midlands side does not need him, given they have Stansfield and Kyogo, but a short-term deal could tempt them.

Read more: <a at Patrick Bamford as Leeds set to sign Calvert-Lewin

(Credit: Leeds United YouTube)MLS move may appeal to Patrick Bamford after Leeds United exit

There could be more Elland Road exits after Bamford, with the transfer deadline set for 1 September.

Now that the forward will be a free agent, he can take his time to complete a move regardless of the deadline.

One move that is likely to appeal to a 31-year-old is a move to the MLS – a league famed for acquiring ageing Premier League players, with Bamford admitting it is an option he’d like to explore.

In the United States, there is one particular club that stands out due to its manager, and that is Charlotte FC.

Son Heung-min left Tottenham for LAFC

Harry Toffolo joined Charlotte FC from Nottingham Forest

Rob Holding left Crystal Palace for Colorado Rapids

Indeed, the MLS club are managed by Dean Smith, who managed Aston Villa, Brentford, Leicester City, and Norwich City.

He could decide to use his links to England and provide a new challenge for Bamford across the pond.

(Credit: Charlotte FC YouTube)Wrexham would be a Championship wildcard move

Wrexham have been linked with a move for Bamford this summer and could offer a Hollywood move for the forward

The Red Dragons have financial backing and have already pulled off two big deals in Kieffer Moore and Nathan Broadhead.

With that in mind, it could be argued that they may not need to make a move for another frontman.

However, by having Moore, Broadhead, and Bamford within their ranks, Wrexham would pose a serious goal threat

As it stands, there have been no concrete reports on Bamford’s next club, but he could have options all over the world.

Sign up for the MOT Leeds News WhatsApp channel and turn on
