NEW HAVEN, Conn. \u2013 <\/strong>Sophomore forward\/midfielder\/back Gigi Caldero<\/a> (New Canaan, Conn.)<\/strong> of the Yale field hockey team has been chosen to attend USA Field Hockey’s U-21 Junior Women’s National Team Selection Camp. USA Field Hockey announced the selections Thursday. The camp will take place Dec. 19 to 21 at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Caldero earned her spot after competing at the Senior Nexus Championship last month<\/a>. Nexus is USA Field Hockey’s Olympic Development Pathway Program, and part of the tryout process for the Junior U.S. National Teams.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is the second straight year Caldero has been selected for\u00a0 the U-21 Junior Women’s National Team Selection Camp. She also has been selected for USA Field Hockey’s Nexus program for four straight years now. In 2021 she won silver at the Nexus Championship and went on to earn bronze at the U16 Junior Olympics.\u00a0<\/p>\n
