Irish musician CMAT has announced that she is giving away Royal Family-style commemorative plates to mark the release of her new album tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old singer-songwriter\u2019s new album, Euro-Country, is the third studio album from the indie singer after If My Wife New I\u2019d Be Dead and 2023’s Crazymad, for Me, with the latter receiving Ivor Novello and Mercury Prize nominations.<\/p>\n

Posting on social media and adopting the moniker of the \u2018Dunboyne Diana\u2019, CMAT pre-empted the album\u2019s release on Friday by prompting eager fans to order the album from her website before September 4.<\/p>\n

This will put them in contention to win a \u201climited edition\u201d memorial plate in the style of ones sold featuring members of the British royal family, such as Princess Diana.<\/p>\n

Describing the item as \u201cso beautiful\u201d and \u201creally nice\u201d, CMAT wrote: \u201cHave you ever wanted to win a CMAT memorial plate?? well, now you can!! order EURO-COUNTRY from my store before September 4 and you can win one of three plates!!,\u201d the singer wrote.<\/p>\n

In the accompanying video on her post, she said: \u201cOrder any version of my new album Euro-Country from my store to be in with a chance to win this, a CMAT memorial plate.\u201d<\/p>\n

The singer, who was born in Dublin but grew up in Co Meath, added: \u201cYou really just have to pre-order any version of my album from my store by the 4th of September to be in with a chance to win this memorial plate. I\u2019m giving away three of them. Yes, this is normal.\u201d<\/p>\n

CMAT, whose real name is Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, is currently on a tour which includes dates across Ireland, the UK and North America.<\/p>\n

She will be performing at the 3Arena in Dublin on Friday December 5 before returning to the capital next year to play in St Anne\u2019s Park on Saturday, May 30 and Musgrave Park in Cork on Saturday June 20.<\/p>\n

CMAT made headlines in the summer when she joined a chorus of opposition in the music industry to Israel\u2019s bombardment of the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n

During her set at Glastonbury in June, she chanted “Free Palestine” in front of the the Pyramid Stage crowd.<\/p>\n

This was not the first display of vocal support of the Palestinian people. In May 2024, she pulled out of UK festival Latitude due to its sponsorship by Barclays Bank which, according to the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, has over \u20ac2.3 million in shares in companies supplying weapons to Israel.<\/p>\n
