{"id":382295,"date":"2025-08-29T11:21:23","date_gmt":"2025-08-29T11:21:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/382295\/"},"modified":"2025-08-29T11:21:23","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T11:21:23","slug":"new-imf-executive-director-urjit-patel-appointed-for-three-years-succeeds-dr-krishnamurthy-subramanian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/382295\/","title":{"rendered":"New IMF executive director: Urjit Patel appointed for three years; succeeds Dr Krishnamurthy Subramanian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <img src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/article-36.jpg\" alt=\"New IMF executive director: Urjit Patel appointed for three years; succeeds Dr Krishnamurthy Subramanian\" title=\"Urjit Patel (File photo)\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/> Dr Urjit Patel, the former <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/reserve-bank-of-india\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reserve Bank of India<\/a> governor, has been appointed Executive Director (ED) representing India at the <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/international-monetary-fund\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Monetary Fund<\/a> after the Centre&#8217;s approval for a three-year tenure.&#8221;The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Dr. Urjit Patel, Economist and Former <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/rbi-governor\" styleobj=\"[object Object]\" class=\"\" commonstate=\"[object Object]\" frmappuse=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RBI Governor<\/a>, to the post of Executive Director (ED) at the International Monetary Fund, for a period of three years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier,&#8221; said the government in a press release.Dr Patel had assumed the role, in 2016, of the RBI&#8217;s 24th governor after Raghuram Rajan.
