The 21-year-old joins Blues having helped Paris Saint-Germain to a second-place finish behind Lyon in the Premi\u00e8re Ligue last season.<\/p>\n

Oceane Hurtre\u2019s career so far<\/p>\n
Oceane Hurtre initially signed for Paris Saint-Germain at the age of six, spending three years there before moving on to AS Poissy and then Olympique Lyonnais.<\/p>\n
She then rejoined PSG in 2018 and spent two seasons out on loan, first to Dijon in 2022, followed by Bordeaux in 2023.<\/p>\n
She signed her first professional contract in the summer of 2022, agreeing a deal to keep her at the club until June 2025.<\/p>\n
She had made her breakthrough into the first team in the 2020-21 season, featuring as a winger or left-sided midfielder.<\/p>\n
Internationally, she has played for France<\/a> at under-16, under-19 and under-23 level.<\/p>\n Birmingham City\u2019s pre-season prep<\/p>\n Blues signed another player from the French league earlier this week, securing the services of Haiti international Batcheba Louis from FC Fleury 91.<\/p>\n Louis is Haiti\u2019s record goalscorer, with 33 goals in 26 appearances since her international debut in 2014.<\/p>\n They also announced the signing of Lucy Newell on a season-long loan from Manchester United ahead of the start of their WSL2 campaign.<\/p>\n Birmingham City were relegated from the Women\u2019s Super League at the end of the 2021-22 season, finishing with just three wins, and have been seeking promotion ever since.<\/p>\n They just missed out last time round as they finished second in what was then called the Women\u2019s Championship, two points behind champions London City Lionesses.<\/p>\n Amy Merricks took up the role of head coach in April 2024. She was previously head coach of England women under-19s, and before that worked in multiple roles at Brighton and Hove Albion, where she acted as interim manager on several occasions.<\/p>\n Birmingham City\u2019s technical director Hope Powell described Merricks on her appointment:<\/a> \u201cAmy Merricks is a highly talented and progressive, young coach. Her leadership qualities and attention to detail shone through during her time at Brighton.
