The priority is privacy and dignity, but also ensuring the door stays open for further dialogue.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe Sussex source made it clear that the Prince of Wales has \u201crejected\u201d any opportunity to heal the royal family<\/a> rift. Ingrid Seward, author of My Mother and I,<\/a> told Fox News Digital<\/a> in mid-August that William\u2019s sticking point is Harry\u2019s wife, Meghan Markle.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThe flea in the ointment really is very much Meghan,\u201d Seward alleged. \u201cShe\u2019s disliked intensely by a large number of the monarchists of this country. They see her as being very\u2026 damaging to the royal family.\u201d William\u2019s resistance to even meeting with his brother caused a palace insider to describe the Prince of Wales as \u201cpetty and ridiculous<\/a>\u201d to the Daily Beast<\/a> in December 2024.<\/p>\n \n\tEven royal expert Duncan Larcombe questioned William\u2019s leadership to the same publication in June 2022, \u201cIf William wants to be a future king, a great leader giving inspiring addresses about the environment to two billion people, then the public are within their rights to expect him to be able to sort out a frankly pretty minor dispute with his brother,\u201d he said<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\tIf a reconciliation between Harry and Charles is on the horizon, it\u2019s not going to be a good look for William.
