Capital Scotland host and self-proclaimed Swifty Katy J is over the moon to be celebrating her engagement on the same week that Travis Kelce proposed to Taylor Swift<\/p>\n

Capital FM’s beloved drivetime DJ Katy Johnston <\/a>is over the moon after getting engaged during a dream trip to the Outer Hebrides. The radio host’s<\/a> partner Calum Robertson got down on one knee on Kneep Beach in the Isle of Lewis this week.<\/p>\n

The loved-up pair were visiting the island as part of Katy’s 30th birthday celebrations, as they spend time in the area where he family hail from.<\/p>\n

In picture perfect scenes of white sand and turquoise water, Calum presented the custom-made ring which he designed himself, and popped the question after two years of dating.<\/p>\n

The Scots radio presenter, who is known by listeners for her infectious energy and being a Taylor Swift<\/a> megafan, gushed that this has been “the happiest week of her life”. Fittingly, her engagement comes the very same week that Swift also became a fianc\u00e9e after Travis Kelce proposed.<\/p>\n

Swift announced her own engagement to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis on Tuesday evening as she uploaded a series of romantic snaps in a flower garden together on Instagram.<\/p>\n

Taylor captioned the post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married”.<\/p>\n

Katy was among the millions of fans celebrating the singer’s exciting news without knowing that it would be her turn next very soon.<\/p>\n

Katy, who lives in Glasgow, told the Record: “As a radio DJ and lifelong Swifty, I can’t quite believe my Love Story moment has coincided with Taylor Swift’s engagement.”<\/p>\n

She added: “When I saw Travis had proposed to my idol, Taylor, we were cuddled around the fire in a pub on Harris. I cried with happiness at her news and 48 hours later.. I cried with happiness for our own!<\/p>\n

“It’s all the more special, although Calum was slightly worried that Taylor Swift had stolen his thunder! The future is looking very bright and we are so happy and in love!”<\/p>\n

The radio DJ has shared a series of romantic snaps online which show her and Calum kissing on the beach and a photo of her gorgeous new diamond rock.<\/p>\n

The pair celebrated their big news with an overnight stay at the romantic Uig sands in Timsgearraidh.<\/p>\n

Katy has been keeping her Instagram followers updated throughout her Scottish road trip with Calum and her family as she explores some of Scotland’s most beautiful beaches and her Hebridean heritage.<\/p>\n
