Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas is reportedly set to undergo a medical at AS Roma after the Reds give him permission to join them on a season-long loan.<\/p>\n

Liverpool<\/strong><\/a> have reportedly given permission to Kostas Tsimikas<\/strong><\/a> to undergo a medical at AS Roma<\/strong><\/a> ahead of a season-long loan move.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Greek left-back joined the Reds in 2020 from Olympiacos and has made 115 appearances in all competitions.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old, affectionately known as the ‘Greek Scouser’, has primarily served as Andy Robertson’s deputy, and his potential exit looked inevitable following the arrival of Milos Kerkez<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tsimikas\u00a0played a significant role last season as he helped the Reds lift the Premier League trophy, but he was left out of Liverpool’s matchday squads for the opening two Premier League games,\u00a0nor did he make the bench in the Community Shield defeat to Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n

Liverpool give Tsimikas permission for loan move<\/p>\n

Ideally, the Reds would have liked a permanent exit for the defender, but Roma were only willing to sign him on loan<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to a report from the Athletic<\/a>, the Premier League champions have agreed to send him on a loan for the 2025-26 season, and he has been given permission to undergo his medical.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While there were other clubs interested in signing him, Tsimikas favoured a\u00a0club that could offer European football.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Serie A club will pay the entire wages\u00a0for the campaign ahead, and therefore, Liverpool should save money as he is removed from their payroll for the year.<\/p>\n

Could there be more Liverpool exodus?<\/p>\n

The Reds have already sold\u00a0Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Ben Doak, Jarell Quansah and Caoimhin Kelleher, while\u00a0Trent Alexander-Arnold also left following the expiry of his contract.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Harvey Elliott<\/strong><\/a> has been heavily linked with a move to RB Leipzig<\/strong><\/a> this summer, and the Reds winger has reached a basic agreement with the Bundesliga club.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to Paul Joyce<\/a>, Leipzig made direct contact with Liverpool regarding the signing of Elliott, who is seen as a natural replacement for Xavi Simons.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As of now, the German club have not submitted an offer to sign the 22-year-old, while Liverpool are now hesitant to allow him to leave unless they sign a replacement or receive an offer that is too tempting to refuse.\u00a0<\/p>\n
