A royal expert says the drama among the family as Prince Harry<\/a> appears to be on the verge of reconciling<\/a> with his father, King Charles<\/a>, isn’t a good look, but the people love the messiness.<\/p>\n The King’s youngest son may be returning to the U.K. after he and wife, Meghan Markle<\/a>, dramatically stepped back from royal duties in 2020. However, former royal photographer Ian Pelham Turner told The Mirror US, that the public prefers to have the family feuding.<\/p>\n “In public opinion, across both sides of the Atlantic, there seems to be more energy in the split, rather than bringing them back together again,” he said.<\/p>\n READ MORE: South Park creators ‘relying’ on so-called ‘small-penis rule’ to avoid Trump legal action<\/a>READ MORE: Burning Man scrambles to rebuild Orgy Dome as it issues plea to attendees<\/a><\/p>\n “This isn\u2019t a good look for the Royal Family; it makes the Royal Family sound like ‘The Crown<\/a>,'” he added, referring to the popular Netflix series.<\/p>\n When the Sussexes stepped back from duties, it was groundbreaking, said Turner; however, how the Royal Family reacted showed that they were still stuck in the “dark ages,” putting Meghan and Harry in a rough spot.<\/p>\n “I think the reality is, what Harry and Meghan wanted to do, because they felt like they couldn\u2019t live full-time in Britain, for whatever the reasons were, that they wanted to still do charity work in Britain, and they wanted to do half and half,” he said.<\/p>\n But the late Queen Elizabeth<\/a> denied her grandson’s request, which Turner believes is because she was ill-advised. “I think old style thinking is where we\u2019ve got this situation now, think the Queen was very badly advised, I really do,” he said.<\/p>\n Turner said there were other Royal Families that allow members to pursue personal aspirations, especially the siblings of the heir, since their responsibilities aren’t as grand.<\/p>\n “For me, why not? In a modern age of Royal Families, if you look at a lot of Royal Families across the world, most of the Royal Families, or the siblings of Royal Families, all go to work,” he said.<\/p>\n “Why should one of the oldest monarchies in the world still think we\u2019re living in the 18th century?”<\/p>\n Even among the British Royal Family, several members have pursued their own passions while still serving the crown, such as Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh \u2014 Harry\u2019s uncle and aunt.<\/p>\n![\"Prince](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/0_The-Duke-Duchess-Of-Sussex-Visit-Sussex.jpg\")
