Heavy rainfall is expected to sweep across Salford this Saturday, with the \u201cmeteorological summer is ending on a wet and windy note.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rainfall is expected throughout the weekend, with rainfall expected to begin this evening and continue into Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Met Office weather map also forecasted that the rainfall in Salford will be heaviest on Saturday afternoon, with rain set to begin at 2.30pm.<\/p>\n

They said on their website: \u201cShowers continuing through this evening and overnight, especially in the west mixed with occasional clear spells.<\/p>\n

\u201cA few showers first thing, then turning increasingly cloudy from the west with outbreaks of rain sweeping through during the afternoon accompanied by stronger winds.\u201d<\/p>\n

And with combination of strong winds, residents could see rainfall reach speeds of 4-6mm of water per hour.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Salford residents should also be aware the forecast indicates that winds gusts could be as high as 34mph.<\/p>\n

And recent settled and warm weather, which has helped put the UK on track to having its warmest summer on record, <\/a>has now been subsided and replaced with more unsettled and changeable weather.<\/p>\n

Met Office Chief Meteorologist Steve Willington said: \u201cA westerly regime is now in charge of the UK\u2019s weather and will help fuel periods of wet and windy weather over the next few days.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith showers and some longer spells of rain likely for much of the UK on Thursday and Friday.<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cWhile many areas may welcome some rain after fairly prolonged dry weather.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a potential that over the next few days some parts of Wales, northwest England and western Scotland could see some impacts at times, which we\u2019ll be keeping an eye on.\u201d<\/p>\n
