\u201cKPop Demon Hunters<\/a>,\u201d the Netflix animated flick of the summer, has emerged as the most-streamed movie in the streaming platform\u2019s history. <\/p>\n For those who might be unfamiliar, the film is centered on a K-pop girl group who track down mythical monsters when they\u2019re not busy filling stadiums and arenas. <\/p>\n Though it\u2019s an animated movie, it\u2019s quickly grown into a widespread phenomenon and has racked up a strong fan base since its release, overtaking \u201cRed Notice<\/a>,\u201d an action comedy with Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, as the most-watched film on the service. The film\u2019s soundtrack was even a huge hit, which topped the charts. <\/p>\n As a result, \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d has wooed watchers, pulling in 236 million views, compared to the 230.9 million that \u201cRed Notice\u201d has accumulated, according to Variety<\/a>. <\/p>\n The animated movie scored a rare theatrical release from the streaming giant last weekend as Netflix didn\u2019t publicly share box office results, but sources say it was the highest-grossing movie of the weekend<\/a>, earning between $18 million to $20 million. It was also the most-streamed movie last week on Netflix, raking in another 25.4 million views. <\/p>\n Netflix debuted \u201cKPop Demon Hunters\u201d on June 20.
