Huawei has established a technology ecosystem fully independent of the United States, according to a senior executive, as reported by the South China Morning Post<\/a>. Tao Jingwen, a president at the company, stated that China has virtually overcome crippling US tech restrictions, with mainland-developed computing infrastructure and AI systems now rivaling those from the US.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made during an event in Guiyang, where Tao discussed the company’s progress toward tech self-sufficiency since being added to a US trade blacklist in May 2019. He indicated that the industry-wide commitment to this goal would enable China to surpass the US in AI applications, leveraging the country’s extensive economy.<\/p>\n

Huawei also unveiled its CloudMatrix 384<\/a> system, a cluster of 384 Ascend AI processors that delivers 300 petaflops of computing power. This development is part of a broader push in semiconductors, computing power, and cloud services.
