Finland played Great Britain today in their latest Eurobasket group competition, and Lauri Markkanen was fantastic.<\/p>\n
From the start, Markkanen dominated Great Britain with another impressive performance, a trend that has been happening throughout Eurobasket.<\/p>\n
In the first quarter, he scored 12 points at an incredible efficiency.<\/p>\n
At halftime, he was having an incredible performance already.<\/p>\n
By the end of the game, Finland had secured a dominant win, and Lauri Markkanen had 43 points to finish the game. Oh, and it was in just 23 minutes.<\/p>\n
It turns out that Markkanen wasn\u2019t just good, he was historically good. His performance today surpassed his own previous third-place record for most points in a Eurobasket game since 2001.<\/p>\n
Markkanen is absolutely balling out and is proving that his shooting is still a lethal weapon. He\u2019s also showing some nice things, like taking pull-up jumpers that are almost completely absent from his game. Like this one, where he has the ball up top and does a very nice step-back three. This is just not something we\u2019ve seen from him during his time with the Jazz. Is this something he\u2019s added to his game? Or is this the product of playing a low-level Great Britain team?<\/p>\n
Whatever the case, it\u2019s extremely intriguing to see how this pans out and what happens this season.
