King Charles and Prince Harry<\/a> are reportedly moving closer to a reconciliation. Aides for the two met just recently, and there have even been rumors that a face-to-face meeting between father and son could come as soon as September. All of this amid reports that King Charles\u2019 poor health might be the thing that brings Prince Harry and Prince William closer together, too.<\/p>\n

The Duke of Sussex has been very open about his desire to make up with his family. \u201cI would love\u00a0reconciliation with my family<\/a>,\u201d he said in a BBC interview a few months ago, \u201cThere\u2019s no point continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don\u2019t know how much longer my father has. He won\u2019t speak to me because of this security stuff [the Sussex family is entitled to in the U.K.], but it would be nice to reconcile.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harry has also reportedly offered to share his official schedule of engagements with the\u00a0royal family, another olive branch that proves his willingness to work towards reconciliation. Now, however, Radaronline.com<\/a> is reporting that the security issue might be one of the reasons Prince Harry is keen to make up with his father.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course Harry cares about his father and worries about him,\u201d a source told the outlet. \u201cHe\u2019s been kept in the dark about Charles\u2019 health status.\u201d But, the source also said, \u201cThere are suspicions Harry\u2019s main motivation is to reinstate his taxpayer-funded security.\u201d Not just because it\u2019s a lot of money, but because it would allow him to bring his kids to the U.K.<\/p>\n

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex<\/a> have indicated they don\u2019t believe they\u2019re safe in the U.K., with Harry saying when he lost his court case trying to get security reinstated, \u201cI can\u2019t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, that could all change with more security. And the matter of security could change if Harry and his father were in better terms. \u201cIf he were back in the royal family\u2019s good graces and received financial support, that could fix everything,\u201d the source said. \u201cMeghan wouldn\u2019t be so desperate to make money.\u201d<\/p>\n

A source told\u00a0The Mirror<\/a>\u00a0that the reconciliation is indeed happening between father and son in September, but William is purposefully avoiding his brother at all costs. According to a source, there is \u201cdetermination on both sides to make [a reunion] happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody is pretending the wider family issues have been resolved, but this is about beginning with Charles and Harry,\u201d the source said, saying that it\u2019s \u201cthe right time to take that step\u201d with \u201ca simple face-to-face conversation between a father and son.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source said, \u201cThis is not about grand gestures or set-piece meetings. \u2026 The priority is privacy and dignity, but also ensuring the door stays open for further dialogue.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs for Harry and William, though, any chance of reconciliation between them has been rejected out of hand,\u201d the insider continued.<\/p>\n

This all comes after reports that the couple had to let go of several of their staff in their Montecito home. \u201cThis isn\u2019t strategy \u2014 it\u2019s survival,\u201d celebrity gossiper\u00a0Rob Shuter<\/a> reported. \u201cThey\u2019re running out of money, and now they\u2019re running\u00a0out of people.\u201d A source blamed the way the two had structured their household. \u201cThey don\u2019t have the money to keep the team they built,\u201d the source explained. \u201cThey tried to recreate the royal court \u2014 but California doesn\u2019t do crowns on credit.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a candid moment on her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, Markle reflected on the \u201cfear\u201d of running out of money. \u201cSo many women, especially, we\u2019re taught to not even talk about money,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd there\u2019s lots of guilt mentality surrounding having a lot.\u201d But according to her, that\u2019s not all. \u201cAt the same time, there\u2019s a scarcity mindset that it\u2019s easy to attach to, of like \u2018I\u2019ll never have enough,\u2019\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

With a new Netflix deal and an expanded As Ever line<\/a>, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle<\/a> seem to be doing just fine. But that likely doesn\u2019t mean Prince Harry will stop trying to reconcile with his family. And that\u2019s probably a good thing.<\/p>\n
