Coldplay have cancelled two of their Wembley shows due to planned industrial action on the London Underground<\/a>. The group was set to play the shows as part of their Sphere’s tour on Sunday, September 7 and Monday, September 8.<\/p>\n

The band kicked off their 10-night stint at Wembley Stadium<\/a> on Friday, 22nd August, playing further shows on Saturday (23rd August), Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27. Coldplay had six shows left to play at the stadium – Saturday 30, Sunday 31, Wednesday, September 3, Thursday 4, Sunday 7 and Monday 8.<\/p>\n

But now the group has announced two of these shows – September 7 and September 8 – will be rescheduled due to planned strike action on the Tube. The shows will now take place on Saturday, September 6 and Friday, September 12 respectively.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the group said: “We\u2019re sorry to announce that, due to planned industrial action on the London Underground, we\u2019ve been forced to reschedule our final two concerts of the current Wembley Stadium<\/a> run.<\/p>\n

“Without a Tube service, it\u2019s impossible to get 82,000 people to the concert and home again safely, and therefore no event licence can be granted for the nights of 7th and 8th September. To avoid cancelling the shows, our only option is to reschedule.<\/p>\n

“The Sunday 7th September show will move to Saturday 6th September. The Monday 8th September show will move to Friday 12th September. All tickets will remain valid for their rescheduled date.”<\/p>\n

They added: “The shows on Saturday 30th August, Sunday 31st August, Wednesday 3rd September and Thursday 4th September will go ahead as scheduled. We’re very sorry for the inevitable disappointment, frustration and inconvenience that this situation causes.<\/p>\n

Ticket holders who are able to attend the new date do not need to do anything to secure entry to the rescheduled show. Those who cannot attend the new date are eligible for a full refund, which must be requested by 12pm BST on Thursday, September 2. Returned tickets will then go on general sale on Wednesday, September 3 form 11am via Ticketmaster.<\/p>\n
