On November 26, 2013, they duetted at the Winter White Gala at Kensington Palace, belting out the <strong>Jon Bon Jovi<\/strong> hit \u201cLivin&#8217; On a Prayer\u201d to benefit charity. \u201cHe was very nice. I was really glad to have met him,\u201d Swift said at the time. Years later, in a 2021 interview, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/style\/2021\/12\/prince-william-cringes-over-singing-taylor-swift-jon-bon-jovi-2013-centrepoint-event-embarrassing-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">William remembered his impromptu rock star moment<\/a>. \u201cI went to a charity fundraising gala for Centrepoint,&#8221; he said, where \u201cJon Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift are at the event, which nearly knocked me off my feet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">\u201cI\u2019m sat next to Taylor Swift. She\u2019s on my left. And after Jon does his first song, there\u2019s a pause, and she turns to me. She puts her hand on my arm, looks me in the eye, and says, \u2018Come on, William. Let\u2019s go and sing,\u2019\u201d he remembered. \u201cTo this day, I still do not know what came over me. Honestly, even now I\u2019m cringing at what happened next, and I don\u2019t understand why I gave in. But, frankly, if Taylor Swift looks you in the eye, touches your arm, and says, \u2018Come with me\u2026\u2019 I got up like a puppy and went, \u2018Yeah, okay, that seems like a great idea. I\u2019ll follow you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\">William was \u201ca little scared,\u201d Taylor had recounted. The prince was even clearer: &#8220;Beneath my black tie, there was a lot of sweating going on. I felt like a swan, where I was trying to keep myself composed on the outside, but inside, the little legs are paddling fast. When I do speeches and things like that, I\u2019ve done so many now, they\u2019re not a problem. But I\u2019ve not done singing.
