More than one million players have tried out Gears of War Reloaded<\/a> following its release across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC earlier this week.<\/p>\n

According to the developer<\/a>, this milestone means the title is \u201cending the console war, one grub at a time\u201d. We\u2019re not so sure about that.<\/p>\n

The player number has likely been accelerated by free upgrades on platforms where the franchise has existed before, as well as its inclusion on Xbox Game Pass<\/strong><\/a>. But we have to imagine full-price PS5 sales are strong, as the series is making its PlayStation debut on Sony\u2019s system.<\/p>\n

At the time of writing, on the US PS Store<\/a>, the remaster is currently ranked 10th on the best-sellers list, behind only Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater<\/a> and evergreen releases such as Roblox<\/a>, Fortnite<\/a>, and Madden NFL 26<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019d certainly be interesting to see a breakdown of sales across all systems, but we\u2019re unlikely to ever get that level of granular data outside of estimates.<\/p>\n
