Gerhard Struber admits that the fact Bristol City<\/a> have received transfer interest in Zak Vyner this summer is \u201cnot a surprise,” but the Robins boss hopes the defender will still be a City player beyond Monday\u2019s transfer deadline.<\/p>\n Vyner, who started the Reds\u2019 4-2 win over Hull City<\/a> on Saturday afternoon, has been the subject of speculation throughout the summer transfer window so far. He is, in the end, a very important player, and we can see it in every game, how important is he for the club, for the team.<\/p>\n \u201cHe is a Bristol City<\/a> player, he grew here, so he is the face of the club, and we know what we have with him, but for Zak Vyner, I think he is very happy here.<\/p>\n \u201cHe is very, very happy here, and he enjoyed the time here, but I\u2019m absolutely not surprised that other clubs have a lot of interest in him and maybe also in the one or other player.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s super important for the here and now, and if we were to lose him, I think this would do big damage for us,\u201d the head coach continued when asked if he was confident about keeping the defender. \u201cI think to lose a player on this level, so close before the transfer window closes, I think this would be damaging, but this is not a big discussion between us and the management.<\/p>\n \u201cI hope that nothing happens in this direction in the next few days. I have a very good connection with Zak, and I hope he also realises what he has on us, on the club.<\/p>\n \u201cI am not a dreamer.
