The Aston Martin driver walked away from the media pen mid-question, leaving a bemused journalist without a response.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian will start P20 and last at the Dutch Grand Prix after a mistake saw him crash in Q1, ending his session without a timed lap.<\/p>\n<p>After starting the weekend in fine form, going third quickest in FP1, <a href=\"https:\/\/racingnews365.com\/huge-lance-stroll-crash-brings-out-red-flag-in-dutch-fp2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a heavy crash early in the second hour of running<\/a> meant <a href=\"https:\/\/racingnews365.com\/fia-confirm-aston-martin-survival-cell-change-after-massive-lance-stroll-crash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Silverstone squad had to build a new AMR25 overnight<\/a>, breaking curfew to get it ready for FP3.<\/p>\n<p>The survival cell of Stroll&#8217;s car was damaged, as was much of the rest of the chassis, which necessitated the comprehensive changes. The power unit and gearbox were also changed as a precautionary measure.<\/p>\n<p>That work preceded his qualifying incident, where on his first push lap, the three-time podium finisher strayed onto the grass at the entry of Turn 13, <a href=\"https:\/\/racingnews365.com\/lance-stroll-misery-continues-with-second-smash-in-two-days\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spinning his car and hitting the barrier at the exit of the corner<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The damage to his front wing and the underside of the car proved critical, ending his session despite managing to get it back to the pits.<\/p>\n<p>The disappointment was evident. When speaking to the media, including <strong>RacingNews365<\/strong>, Stroll answered questions about the grid-setting hour as usual.<\/p>\n<p>However, when asked if Aston Martin had made a big turnaround since the Belgian Grand Prix &#8211; where the 26-year-old and team-mate Fernando Alonso qualified on the final row &#8211; and if the team had unlocked some understanding of its car, Stroll decided to end the media session, walking away.<\/p>\n<p>Alonso, who was second-fastest in FP2 in the other AMR25, qualified in P10.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Lance Stroll cut short his post-qualifying media duties at Zandvoort.
